The ARC-Grain Crops division is seeking a detail-oriented Asset Admin Officer responsible for managing, verifying, and safeguarding organizational assets while ensuring compliance with asset management policies and audit standards.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Management and Control

  • Maintain records of quarterly asset counts and newly acquired assets
  • Manage asset verification processes and movement registers
  • Ensure accurate and updated fixed asset register
  • Reconcile inventory control sheets with asset registers

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Conduct monthly asset spot checks and ongoing verification
  • Identify obsolete, damaged, or redundant assets for disposal
  • Assist with audit queries and asset reporting
  • Prepare quarterly and annual asset disclosure notes

Compliance and Administration

  • Ensure compliance with Supply Chain Management (SCM) policies and asset management plans
  • Maintain proper filing and secure storage of asset documentation

Health and Safety (OHS)

  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and assets
  • Monitor occupational health and safety compliance
  • Follow up on OHS decisions and ensure implementation
  • Ensure safety of all assets on a monthly basis

Minimum Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with Accounting or Mathematics
  • At least 1 year relevant experience in administration or asset management
  • Knowledge of administrative processes and asset control systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s licence

Employment Conditions

  • Appointment subject to security clearance and competency assessments
  • Six-month probation period applies
  • Preference given in line with Employment Equity Plan
  • Foreign qualifications must include SAQA evaluation
