Senior Secretary Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
- Good understanding of the Public Sector environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good telephone etiquette
- Computer literacy in:
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- MS PowerPoint
- MS Outlook

Senior Secretary Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide secretarial and administrative support to the Director and ensure the smooth running of the office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing secretarial and administrative support services to the Director
- Maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Serving as the main point of contact for visitors
- Managing the organisation and image of the Director’s office
- Handling, screening and transferring incoming telephone calls
- Managing and coordinating the Director’s diary and appointments
- Coordinating logistical arrangements for meetings and workshops
- Arranging travel, accommodation, and transport for official duties
- Compiling and reconciling subsistence and travel claims
- Maintaining document management systems and filing systems
- Preparing reports and official submissions
- Assisting with Directorate reports consolidation
- Providing secretariat support during meetings
- Managing office communications and correspondence
- Performing additional duties delegated by the Director
