Minimum Requirements
- Basic literacy and numeracy.
Experience
- Appropriate experience as a Cleaner in a health environment.
Inherent Requirements of the Job
- Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work at heights requiring the use of a stepladder.
- The physical ability to perform heavy tasks and operate heavy-duty cleaning and household equipment.
- Willingness to rotate across different clinics according to operational needs and requirements.
Competencies (Knowledge and Skills)
- Ability to work effectively in a team, independently, and unsupervised.
- Ability to accept accountability and responsibility.
- Ability to handle conflict and work under pressure.
- Ability to operate specialized machinery and equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Responsible for thorough cleaning, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, refuse removal, and daily cleaning of garbage bins, toilets, sluices, and drains.
- Clean windows and walls within the clinic facility.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is thoroughly cleaned after usage and securely stored.
- Render assistance to the supervisor with general housekeeping duties, including the control of cleaning and household equipment, care of linen, and serving patients.
- Adhere strictly to safety measures when handling medical and general waste.
- Attend mandated in-service training appropriate to service delivery.
