Educationist Vacancy (8 Posts) – Mangaung Correctional Centre

The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is seeking eight (8) qualified and dedicated Educationists for the Free State and Northern Cape Region. This is a permanent opportunity to facilitate rehabilitation through education within the correctional system.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12 plus a recognized 4-year degree (or equivalent) in Education.
  • Professional Registration: Current registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
  • Technical: Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license (Note: Driver’s license requirement is waived for applicants with disabilities).
  • Experience Advantage: Preference may be given to qualified applicants currently employed at Mangaung Correctional Centre; such experience is considered an added advantage.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement and assess educational programs and policies for offenders.
  • Maintain service level standards aligned with government education departments.
  • Manage human resources, finances, and assets within the unit.
  • Adhere to the Public Service Management Framework and correctional standards.
